Morningwood Chronicles
In late 2025, I reached a point where I could no longer ignore what was happening to my health.
I was overweight, diabetic, hypertensive, sedentary, and developing fatty liver disease. I had been taking prescription medications for years, and despite repeated conversations with my doctor about lifestyle change, my metabolic health continued drifting in the wrong direction.
On November 19, 2025, at my doctor’s insistence, I finally went for another round of blood work.
Then I did something unusual.
What followed was not a diet, a challenge, or a short-term fitness plan. It became a six month experiment in metabolic restoration, guided in large part by artificial intelligence and documented publicly, one day at a time, from the forests near my home in Washington State.
The answers turned out to be yes.
But over time, the project became about much more than biomarkers and weight loss.
As my metabolism stabilized, other things began changing too: energy, sleep, appetite, confidence, emotional stability, and eventually, my sense of possibility about the future itself.
More importantly, the structure and habits that produced those outcomes became sustainable.
This website documents that process in full: the videos, the blood work, the lessons, the failures, the philosophy, and the increasingly strange realization that restoring metabolic health can expand the field of available choices in life itself.
